Overview

Menikki ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal tag diary app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected, where it is stored, and how it is used.

1. Data You Create

All diary data you create in Menikki — including tag groups, tags, log entries, notes, quantities, durations, intensities, and dashboard configurations — is stored exclusively on your device in a local SQLite database. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party, except when you explicitly use the Export feature (see section 4).

2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following information is stored locally and remains on your device at all times:

Tag groups and tags (names, icons, colors)
Log entries (timestamps, associated tags, quantities, notes)
Dashboard widget configuration
Notification reminder preferences (time of day)
Notification threshold settings (tag-based reminders)

No account or login is required to use the app.

3. Payment Processing — RevenueCat

Menikki uses RevenueCat to process in-app purchases and manage subscriptions (Menikki Premium). When you make a purchase or restore purchases, RevenueCat may collect:

Purchase and transaction history
Subscription status and entitlements
A device-specific anonymous identifier
App Store / Play Store receipt data

RevenueCat acts as a payment infrastructure provider. We do not receive or store your payment card details. For more information, see the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

4. Export & Import

The Export feature (Premium) allows you to create a local backup of your data as a .menikki file. This file is saved temporarily on your device and shared via your device's standard share sheet. We do not receive or store this file. What you do with the exported file is entirely under your control.

The Import feature reads a .menikki file you select from your device. No data is sent to us during import.

5. Local Notifications

Menikki can send local reminder notifications based on thresholds you configure. These notifications are generated entirely on your device using your local data. No data is sent to any server to deliver these notifications.

6. Crash Reporting — Sentry

Menikki uses Sentry to collect crash reports and error diagnostics. When the app crashes or encounters an unexpected error, Sentry may automatically collect:

The type and message of the error
A stack trace (code location where the error occurred)
Device type, operating system version, and app version
A randomly generated anonymous session identifier

Sentry does not collect your diary data, tag names, log entries, notes, or any other personal content you create in the app. Crash reports are used solely to identify and fix bugs. For more information, see the Sentry Privacy Policy.

7. Cookies and Tracking

Menikki does not use cookies. We do not use advertising networks or any third-party tracking tools.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties, except as described in section 3 (RevenueCat, solely for payment processing) and section 6 (Sentry, solely for crash reporting).

9. Data Security

Your diary data never leaves your device under normal operation. The security of your data depends on the security of your device.

10. Children's Privacy

Menikki is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
